WILDKIND

Voiced by three generations of one family, WildKind is a poem painted to awaken the senses, a fluid journey of hope and healing across our shared watercolour motherland. Based on the book WildKind by creator and producer Ciara Tinney, our new short film is a universal bedtime story, and a call to nurture a life wild and kind.

Wildkind was narrated in English, Irish and Arabic by generations of women from the North of Ireland, North Africa and the Middle East. It took flight on its festival run with the World Premiere in Galway Film Fleadh 2025.

Working with a small team of 3 artist/animators, with Ciara at the creative centre, we meticulously recreated her paintings in digital form, bringing her ink to life across time. Similarly, the words of her poem moved from the page onto the screen – narrated by Ciara, her daughters and her mother – in a way which amplified the emotional heart of the original poem.

Our finished film reflects the care and intention of the original book, the passion and dedication of our small team, and the timely message WildKind carries for us all.
